Meet Jacob

Jacob is one of the youngest candidates in Pennsylvania, and he’s ready to get Smithfield moving forward again.

Jacob Pride, a lifelong resident of Smithfield Township, was born in 2000 in East Stroudsburg. He graduated from East Stroudsburg Senior High School South in June 2018. A political science major, Jacob studies at East Stroudsburg University. With years of experience in local politics and a drive for service, Jacob is the best and most progressive choice for Smithfield Supervisor.

Results & Accomplishments

Monroe County Democratic Committee

Since June 2018, Jacob has served as the Campaign Committee Chairman, recruiting candidates to run for office and organizing a group of talented individuals to assist their campaigns. Jacob has also served as a committeeman for Smithfield 2 since September 2018. Jacob’s involvement with the committee dates back to 2014.

Monroe County Young Democrats

In the wake of a Trump victory in the electoral college, Jacob and many other young Democrats decided that young people should be more represented in Monroe County. In January of 2017, a group of approximately fifteen formed the Monroe County Young Democrats. Jacob has served in several roles in the organization: Executive Councilor, Secretary, and now Political Director. The organization seeks to empower young people and get them involved in the ever meaningful local process. The group has raised thousands of dollars, utilizing the funds to elect candidates, build Young Dem membership, and promote the values of Young Democrats.

Adam Rodriguez for State Representative

Jacob joined Adam Rodriguez’s campaign for State Representative in Pennsylvania’s 189th District in August 2017, and later became Deputy Campaign Manager. Jacob’s strengths in youth organizing, data collection, statistical analysis, and belief in team work led to a spirited and close challenge to the incumbent Republican. Jacob will reprise his role in Adam’s 2020 campaign because of Adam’s unique and strong passion for issues that concern Smithfield. Many of those issues and ideas are available on Adam’s website.
